About me
I'm a hobbyist whose early years in grade school were often spent
in the school library with the tattered copy of Alfred Powell Morgan's
"The Boy's First Book of Radio and Electronics." My teen years coincided with
the technology transition from vacuum tubes to transistors, but I tended to stay
in the vacuum tube world because nothing seemed to work with
transistors. That's probably because my first transistor collection was
essentially "floor sweepings" from PolyPaks.
I later moved into semiconductors when they became more readily available.
My interest and Electrical Engineering career has been mostly analog electronics
(everything is analog, actually) but digital and software have played a large
part as well.
My projects are simply the things I have created for myself,
and I'm happy to share with those who find them useful.
Technology is pretty exciting.
As much as I am excited about technology, I'm also a Christian,
excited about Jesus Christ, born again from above, an ill-deserving
sinner whom God chose to save.
The Bible states that all have sinned and fallen short of God's expectations, and
that sinners earn death because God hates sin and he hates the sinner.
The Bible actually states that God will pour his wrath out on sinners.
We're always trying to provide solutions for our problems but the one problem we'll never
solve is the wickedness of the heart. The Bible states that a sinner is "dead in his sin"
(Ephesians 2). Think about it...dead people can't do anything about their condition. Left in that state
the sinner is destined for everlasting life and torment in hell.
How does a person solve the wickedness in the heart? World religions all tell us that man
has to somehow be good enough to reach up to God. Except for one...Christianity.
The wonderful hope the repentant sinner has is the
saving, substitutionary, and sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus came down to
save the sinner who calls out for help. Jesus took upon himself the sinner's guilt, and died
the death the sinner deserves.
The Bible states,
"But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us,
not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour." Titus 3:4-6
Nothing else can save; nothing else can satisfy. It's all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I recommend it highly.
