GPS and Systems Monitor
This is my Garmin chartplotter and nav instruments.

Inside at the nav station, this is my GPS and Systems Monitor.
This is a self-designed systems monitor that displays:
- Garmin GPSMAP 172C data
- data from my Raymarine instruments that use Raytheon's SeatalkŪ bus
- data from my tank level monitor units (self-designed units
that that also use the Seatalk protocol and talk on the same instrument bus
that the nav instruments use)
- voltage on the four batteries
- diesel RPMs
It is also is connected to both the Garmin bus and the NMEA-0182 bus
on the GPS chartplotter. The monitor unit selects one of the two,
converts the data to USB protocol, and sends via USB to a laptop where
Garmin software and Seaclear software each use the data.
A PIC18F252 microprocessor is at the heart of my design.
